Computer Aided Design

What does high, low, and medium density look like? What is the projected long term effect of continuing our current building practices versus building dense in certain areas? These questions can be answered (in part) online. Two tools of mention are the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy's Visualizing Density web page (I wrote about it here) and a new tool written up on the Just Up the Pike blog (a very interesting blog from out of Silver Spring!).

MetroQuest is a new "scenario-planning" program aimed to help communities better plan for their future by showing the eventual outcomes of today's planning decisions.
If anyone is looking to get a better feel for the results of planning decisions, I strongly suggest you check out both tools.
